← Common questions

I just moved in with my partner. Are my things covered by their policy?

Home

Often, yes. In most policies, a spouse living under the same roof as the insured is one of the “insureds”. Tell the insurer anyway: the amount for belongings has to cover both of yours. Check the definition of “insured” in the policy.

A question about your own policy?

This site explains the general rules. Only your insurer can say what your policy covers: ask your agent or broker. This site doesn’t make recommendations. To choose coverage, also talk to a certified professional.
