What happens if I forget to declare a change?

General

In good faith, the insurer pays in proportion to the premium it received compared with the one it should have received. If there was bad faith, or if the insurer would not have accepted the risk, it owes nothing (articles 2466 and 2411 of the Civil Code of Québec). When in doubt, declare it.

A question about your own policy?

This site explains the general rules. Only your insurer can say what your policy covers: ask your agent or broker. This site doesn’t make recommendations. To choose coverage, also talk to a certified professional.
